December 9, 1946 – October 23, 2026
Craig Litman passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026, at home in Mill Valley, California, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and graduated from St. Louis Park High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, followed by a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
In 1986, Craig founded the wealth management firm Craig Litman & Company. Ken Gregory joined him the following year, and the company was renamed Litman Gregory Asset Management. His leadership, positive outlook, resilience, and values were central to the firm’s strength for more than three decades.
Above all, Craig was an incredible husband, father, friend, and mentor. He was funny, kind, brave, intelligent, and generous. He was loved and respected by all.
He leaves behind Patti, his wife of 44 years, and his children, Jason and Mia Litman. He gave them a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love to carry with them always.
Craig is now reunited with his father, David; his mother, Mollie; and his best friend and brother, Shelly.
One Response
Craig was always a wonderful friend to Joan and me. I was so sorry to hear of his passing and at the same time relieved his long struggle is finally over. Hugs and kisses to Patty.
