Family Service Director

Job description

Family Service Directors serve families with care and compassion, educating them through the process of making informed decisions for cemetery advanced planning, at-need funeral products and services and at- need cemetery property.


Base salary plus commissions: $75,000 – $175,000


Medical, dental, paid vacation and 401K plan

Education and Experience

College degree preferred, and/or at least 3-5 years in customer service role, performance-based sales/business development, inside/outside sales environment. Experienced and skillful with the processes, principles and methods for selling products and services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong customer service experience
Experience earning a base salary plus commissions/bonuses or straight commission
Experience contacting referrals and setting appointments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and on telephone
Able to multi-task and manage several funeral cases at the same time
Able to work and make decisions under pressure and tight deadlines
Able to establish working relationships with the general public and staff
Highly organized, detail oriented, and excellent time management skills
Proficient in the use of computers, software, and technology
High level of integrity, empathy and compassion
Able to work weekends

Licenses and Certifications

Current Funeral Director license is preferred. The ability and desire to obtain a license in the state of California is a plus
Valid state issued driver’s license

Physical requirements

Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 50– 75 lbs
Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs with a wheeled cart
