Elizabeth Sheila Maria Kennedy

Born November 26, 1936 in San Diego, CA, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.

With bright eyes and a mischievous spark, ready to ignite the fireworks of life, Elizabeth was generous, passionate, and authentic. She made herself available to the world with a magic that drew people in, as if they had no choice; a whimsy that could charm; a beauty and brightness that would surely never dim. Elizabeth moved to Belvedere in 1966,  where she lived until her death on June 5th, 2026. An entertainer by nature, Elizabeth was wild, funny and creative. She loved playing with and learning new words, and had a knack for theatrics, bringing tears to the eyes of her unwitting audience. It seems cruel that Elizabeth isn’t here to hear our words, for she never missed an opportunity to be complimented, and, knowing her, she’d likely have a few edits. To her, there was tacit permission to speak her mind, issuing sometimes hilarious critiques and compliments alike, with the understanding that such quips were how she tested just how far from the earth her spark could fly. She simply loved fiercely and fought to feel the same in return. She knew how to disarm strangers and welcome them into her warm wildness with unrivaled sincerity. Her life was a story she rewrote many times, with notes and emphasis marking up the pages with the artistic zeal of a true poet. She embodied the extremes of life, its fraying fringes and its thin-aired crescendos – an amazing ride of what it is to be human. She was exciting, beautiful, and loved more than she knew. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She believed in education and even became a minister of faith at age 76. She was a successful designer; both interior and exterior and had a green thumb like no other. She was a writer and was published many times throughout her life. She loved animals; especially dogs, cats, and horses.

She is survived by her husband Allan, daughter Christina & son-in law Kevin and 3 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her daughters CheriLynn Kennedy and Diane Smith. She will be greatly missed.
