Conrad Derain Hanns

December 20, 1958 - October 19, 2026

Conrad Derain Hanns, 67, passed away, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a whole lot of friends who will miss him dearly.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Conrad was a Bay Area guy through and through. It was home, and over the years, he built a life there filled with family, lifelong friendships—many of which dated all the way back to his childhood—and Master Movers, the successful moving and storage business that he ran for nearly 30 years. Through his business, he worked alongside his longtime employees, who were truly like family to him and will miss him profoundly.

Conrad was just a cool, laid-back dude. He loved great food, football, and music. He was generous by nature, never needed to be the center of attention, and had a way of making connections wherever he went. Going out to dinner with him almost always meant running into someone he knew. The number of people who recognized him around the Bay Area was a testament to the friendships he built and the impact he had on his community.

Conrad loved traveling, especially to Hawaii, and enjoyed getting out and experiencing the world. But no matter where he went, his roots and friendships in the Bay Area remained a big part of who he was.

Sandra and Conrad’s paths first crossed in 1998, and they married in 2001. Through the years, they cared for one another and shared many meaningful moments. Sandra will always cherish the years they shared and the loving moments that filled their lives.

To his daughters, Shannon and Jacqueline, he was so much more than a dad. He was caring, someone who gave good advice, and someone who never lost his playful side. When they were kids, he was always up for goofing around and having fun. As his daughters grew older, he encouraged them to be independent and find their own paths in life, allowing them to make their own choices and become the women they wanted to be. He was proud of the women they grew up to be, and that love and pride will always be a part of them.

Conrad also held a special place in his heart for his stepdaughter, Romie, her husband, Andy, and their children, who lovingly called him “Pa.” They brought him great joy. He was proud of them and once shared how much he missed them.

He leaves behind his wife, Sandra; his daughters, Shannon and Jacqueline; his sister, Colette; his brother, Sean; and his stepdaughter, Romie, her husband, Andy, and their children. He also leaves behind countless friends throughout the Bay Area who will remember him as the guy they were always happy to run into, the friend who was generous without making a big deal out of it, and the person whose presence made life a little more enjoyable.

It’s hard to put a life into words, especially the life of someone who meant so much to so many people. Conrad built a successful business, made lifelong friends, raised two daughters he was proud of, and lived life in his own easygoing way. He didn’t have to be anything other than himself to leave a lasting impression.

He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. The stories, the laughter, the friendships, and the memories he leaves behind will continue to keep his spirit alive in the people who were lucky enough to know him.

May we honor Conrad by carrying forward his generosity, making time for one another, and appreciating the daily moments that become our most treasured memories.

Rest in peace, Conrad. You are deeply loved and respected, and you will live in our hearts, always.

Conrad’s cremation remembrance will be shared with the family. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fernwood Cemetery in Mill Valley. Valet parking will be available.
